Change Management Process And Basic Needs Management Essay

Change Management Process And Basic Needs Management Essay Change as we call it is very unavoidable and it is exceptionally important in todays quick changing condition and rivalry. Hierarchical change the board is engaged at when huge changes need to occur. There are various change the executives models that can be utilized by organizations today so as to effectively actualize the change and meet its destinations. The Kurt Lewin Model is an old model despite everything utilized today. Change the executives targets bringing preferred outcomes over those at present experienced. In change the executives one comprehends that there are better methods of playing out a specific assignment in a viable and proficient way while meeting all the clients desires and gauges of execution. So we can utilize the ADKAR model here to oversee change. Change the board hypothesis has 5 standards dependent on it like: From the outset we see that individuals show and demonstrate various responses to change as every individual is extraordinary and one of a kind in their own specific manner. Also individuals endeavor to meet their essential needs paying little mind to their height, occupation or expectations for everyday comforts. Thirdly for every one of the change to occur the individual needs to free something at first to help make the usage of the change effective. All the individuals put in differed measures of endeavors for the change according to their discernment so the change movement should be reasonable in nature. Change carries with it dread and a sentiment of question so change the board can possibly occur if these individuals face their feelings of dread. These five standards should be executed appropriately by the organization to really roll out the improvement procedure doable and fruitful. Change the board requires adequacy from all the concerned partners as it can't prevail by acknowledgment of one however by just an aggregate exertion of many. (Change Management 100 Success Secrets) A decent hockey player plays where the puck is. An incredible hockey player plays where the puck will be Wayne Gretzky, Canadian ice hockey player Change Management (2008) Writing Review Kurt Lewin Change Management Model In 1947 Kurt Lewin proposed a three phase hypothesis of Change which is important till date and most more up to date models are very founded on this model. The three phases are: Unfreeze This is the most basic stage as it includes setting oneself up before a change is executed. It includes understanding that a change needs to occur and the workers need to escape the safe place. A cutoff time needs to there to which some reward/discipline is connected to inspire the individuals to go for the change and acknowledge it. So unfreezing one-self and seeing the inborn points of interest exceeding the disservices lead to a fruitful change. This alludes to another Kurt Lewins hypothesis called the Force Field Analysis. So according to the Force Field Analysis on the off chance that the experts exceed the cons, at that point change can occur easily as it goes about as a pushing factor however on the off chance that not, at that point there is obstruction which can be impeding to the goal and motivation behind the change. We can really take a commonsense guide to delineate the above outline in a superior situation on account of Tata engines in the Analysis segment. Change So the following stage is the progress stage where the change really occurs. Here we see individuals have hindrances as they are uncertain of the outcomes or results from the change procedure are occurring inside the association. Certain elements like preparing, aides and coaches can be utilized to make the learning procedure simpler and quicker as it causes the individuals to adjust and comprehend the goal and method of reasoning for the change action. Through self contribution and legitimate correspondence one can urge the change to happen in a simpler manner. Freeze This stage is additionally called the refreezing stage as it includes if there is dependability after the change has really happened. Individuals presently will in general adjust and acknowledge the change and it turns into a piece of their every day schedule. Change is a ceaseless procedure and not long after the usage of the change the following change process begins anytime and can complete anytime of time. (Kurt Lewin Change Management Model (1947)) ADKAR: Simple, Powerful, Action Oriented Model for Change This model was created by Jeff Hiatt, CEO of Prosci Change Management and it was first distributed in 2003. This model reveals to us that hierarchical change can succeed when every one of the individual individuals from the association progress through the change the executives procedure. There are five stages in this model: Attention to the requirement for change This includes understanding why a specific change is fundamental is the essential part of an effective change. We here discover the justification and need behind the change. So the worker will completely comprehend why change is important. Want to take an interest in and bolster the change Here the worker needs to settle on an individual choice to help the change and take an interest in the change. Just when the individual is sure and persuaded that the change is fundamental then just will he partake in the change action. Legitimate motivators should be figured so as to persuade the individual not to dissuade from the way of progress. Information on the most proficient method to change This is the third phase of the model where information about the change can be bestowed through preparing, mentorship and other instructive techniques. Two kinds of information should be tended to: information on the best way to change (things to be finished during the progress or the time during which the change is being executed) and information on the most proficient method to perform after the change action is executed. Capacity to actualize required aptitudes and practices In this piece of the structure square Ability is alluded to the contrast among hypothesis and practice. When information on the most proficient method to change is set up then this is the hypothesis being alluded to and afterward comes the commonsense viewpoint which is the real execution of the person. This is a period conduming process and can be effectively executed through work on, instructing and criticism. Support to continue the adjustment In the last phase of the model there is a fundamental segment in which endeavors made by the person to support the change are squeezed upon. Here it is guaranteed that changes made remain set up and that the worker doesn't slip back to his old ways which can be guaranteed through positive input, rewards, acknowledgment, estimating execution and taking restorative activities. ADKAR Model of Change (2003) Kotters 8 stages for Leading Change Dr. John Kotter built up the 8 stages to change which can assist associations with avoiding disappointment and be proactive to change. They are: Acting with Urgency It alludes to distinguishing proof of the issue and emergency territories concerning the organization, advertise and the serious powers. Building up the Guiding Coalition Form a group of workers who might be capable to deal with the change endeavors in an aggregate way. Building up a Change Vision This progression includes making a dream and detailing the systems to accomplish the vision. Imparting the Vision purchase in There should be clear correspondence between the representatives and the vision and the way to accomplish it both should be known by all the workers while keeping the group as the wellspring of model. Engaging wide based activity Use fluctuated hazardous thoughts, non-customary methods and different strategies not in the book to evacuate all the snags to the change. Creating momentary successes Visible enhancements should be arranged and all the occupants ought to be properly remunerated for their endeavors. Try not to ease up To change all the frameworks, structures and strategies new representatives perhaps should have been selected, old ones evacuated and other elevated to meet the vision by additionally placing in new ventures, thoughts, work designs, and so forth. Make change stick Use the pioneers in the association to show its representatives the advantages of the change movement in both subjective and quantitative terms with the goal that individuals don't deviate from the change action. Kotters 8 stages of progress (2005) Beckhard Harris Change Formulae In 1987 Beckhard and Harris built up the Change condition which encourages the association to distinguish all the potential outcomes to change. The change condition propounded is: D x V x F > R = Disappointment x Vision x First steps > Resistance to Change All the three segments must be available in compatibility so as to conquer protection from change. Disappointment with the present happenings, Vision of what is to come sooner rather than later, and the way/heading/First means to reach or accomplish this vision should all be there to repulse the protection from the change action. Our Home State Creates Tuition-Free Program - College Essay Advisors Admissions Essay Experts

Our Home State Creates Tuition-Free Program - College Essay Advisors Admissions Essay Experts Our Home State Creates Tuition-Free Program Our Home State Creates Tuition-Free Program New York has passed a program to make all public schools and universities tuition-free for full-time students, and we could not be more proud as pavement-pounding, hot-dog-eating residents of Manhattan. Students who attend school full time and are on track to graduate between two and four years can take advantage of this new program. Many say that New York is leading the way for other states in the beginning of what will be a national adjustment to the college finance model. Although the program isn’t perfect, ignoring students who go to school part-time and work full-time, it’s a fundamental step in the direction of affordable education. The promise students make in accepting this scholarship is that they will live and work in New York for the number of years equivalent to that of their scholarship-funded education.  In other words, a student who is granted free tuition for four years would have to work in New York for four years after graduation. Being that New York, specifically New York City, is considered a hub for commerce, art and many other industries worldwide, we don’t think this is much of a problem for most students. We are also biased and want smart, awesome people to join us on our lunch breaks in the Flatiron District. (Shake Shack, anyone?) It is estimated that approximately 85,000 students in New York would qualify for this program and reap the associated benefits. So you better get those fingers typing, you have tuition-free schools to apply to! Definition and Examples of Epigraphs in English

Epigraphs appear at the beginning of many texts, often to set the tone or theme of whats to come. Although theyre not quite as popular a feature as they once were, they still appear in many texts, both older and contemporary. Definitions (1) An epigraph is a brief motto or quotation set at the beginning of a text (a book, a chapter of a book, a thesis or dissertation, an essay, a poem), usually to suggest its theme. Adjective: epigraphic. A good epigraph can attract or even mystify the reader, says Robert Hudson, but it should never confuse (The Christian Writers Manual of Style, 2004). (2) The term epigraph also refers to words inscribed on a wall, a building, or the base of a statue.See Examples and Observations below. Also see: Commonly Confused Words: Epigram, Epigraph, and EpitaphEpigramEpitaphEpithet Etymology From the Greek epigraphe, meaning  an inscription, which is in turn derived from the Greek verb epigraphein, meaning  to mark the surface; write on, inscribe Examples No man is an Iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.John Donne(epigraph to For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway, 1940) Mistah Kurtz--he dead.A penny for the Old Guy(epigraphs to The Hollow Men by T.S. I have fearenough, but an obstinate rationality prevents me.Dr. Johnson(epigraphs to The British Museum Is Falling Down by David Lodge, 1965) Observations The custom of using epigraphs becomes more widespread during the eighteenth century, when we find them (generally in Latin) at the head of some major works . . .. A somewhat late-developing custom, then, which more or less replaces the classical custom of using dedicatory epistles and which, in its beginnings, seems a little more typical of works of ideas than of poetry or the novel.(Gà ©rard Genette, Paratexts: Thresholds of Interpretation. Cambridge University Press, 1997) Epigraphs in Theses and Dissertations If your department or university allows epigraphs, you may include a brief one in addition to or instead of a dedication. . . . Place the epigraph a third of the way down the page, either centered or treated as a block quotation . . ... Do not enclose it in quotation marks. Give the source on a new line, set flush right and preceded by an em dash. Often the authors name alone is sufficient, but you may also include the title of the work and, if it seems relevant, the date of the quotation.(Kate L. Turabian, A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 8th ed. The University of Chicago Press, 2013) Epigraphic Strategies Having surveyed 700 years of literary epigraphs to compile The Art of the Epigraph: How Great Books Begin, I found that the links between books and their epigraphs and the epigraphs sources are as individual as the authors involved. Still, certain strategies emerge. It seems authors follow at least one of three dictums, and often all three simultaneously: Be Brief: While the modern epigraph evolved from the lengthy prefaces of early novels like Don Quixote (1605) and Gullivers Travels (1726), many authors have adopted the less-is-more approach. One of the most famous epigraphs is a mere two words: Only connect. Thus E.M. Forster announced the theme of Howards End (1910) while dispensing valuable life advice. . . . Brevity amplifies truth and seals it in our memories. Be Funny: Humor is as essential in literature as it is in life. No one understood this better than Vladimir Nabokov, who delighted in subverting expectations. He introduced The Gift, issued in English in 1963, with this excerpt from a Russian grammar book: An oak is a tree. A rose is a flower. A deer is an animal. A sparrow is a bird. Russia is our fatherland. Death is inevitable. . Be Wise: Epigraphs appeal to those of us who value a good insight. In the one for her 2009 novel A Gate at the Stairs, Lorrie Moore suggests that her aim is to examine some painful truths but also to impart the wisdom to bear those truths: All seats provide equal viewing of the universe (Museum Guide, Hayden Planetarium).(Rosemary Ahern, But First, a Few Choice Words. My Enthusiasm For A Compensation And Pension Essay

I am writing to express my enthusiasm for a Compensation and Pension (CP) Psychologist position at the Memphis VA Medical Center. I obtained my doctoral degree from the PGSP-Stanford Consortium and recently completed a primary care psychology fellowship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle Division. Additionally, I passed the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) and anticipate full licensure upon approval from TN’s Board of Examiners in Psychology. Beginning in graduate school, I have had long-term career aspirations to provide care for veterans. It is clear from my review of the job description and discussions with CP psychologists that a CP psychologist position would provide me with opportunities to serve a population in critical need of care. My goals is to work at the Memphis VA as a clinical psychologist with the staff that I came to know during internship; I would be delighted to serve in this capacity as a home based primary care , primary care, or CP psychologist. I am proving a different letter of interest for each of these areas. This letter highlights my interest in the CP position, along with my qualifications for this position. They have been exploited and ill-treated right from the beginning of the creation. But the reality is something else. Women have been put behind walls from ages. Sati Pratha is the bitter truth which shows to what extent our women folk have been exploited. Child marriage and a contemptuous attitude towards the widows are other examples of woman-exploitation. Raja Ram Mohan Roy was the first who raised voice against these unhealthy systems prevalent in Indian society. He took up the cause of the women and worked hard to abolish ‘Sati Pratha. ‘ It was due to his courageous work that Indian women dared to come out of Purdah. They got education which provided them opportunities to develop themselves at all levels. And in due course they surpassed the men. Today we see women in every field. They are marching shoulder to shoulder in every walk of life. Our modern progressive girls are imitating the fashion very fast which is still not acceptable in our society. As a result it creates a lot of problems and crime for which this over-exposure is responsible. It must not be provocative. Tell Them Who I Am essays

Tell Them Who I Am essays Elliot Liebows groundbreaking novel entitled Tell Them Who I Am is one that helps to paint a clear picture of the lives of homeless women, and even homeless people in general. Liebow presents the trials that face homeless women in their daily life and in all other aspects of their life from their daily life and their ability to work to personal things like how their friends, family, and religion fit into the equation. Elliot Liebow, at the age of 58, after being diagnosed with cancer and being told he didnt have long to live, retired from his job as an anthropologist and started volunteering at a local soup kitchen. With plenty of time on his hands and a want to do more, he also volunteered at a shelter for homeless women. It was here that he started socializing with the women and taking a real interest in their stories and what they go through on a day to day basis. He started taking casual notes about they told him, with their permission of course, and later collected their life stories and really got a feel for their plight. This is how he got all of his information. Tell Them is a prime example of participant observation. Someone with no real knowledge of the struggles of homeless women prior to his volunteer work became immersed in their lives and was able to write a book about them. His goal with this book was to write an honest description of shelter life, while also explaining how the women could remain so human while being faced with such inhuman conditions. He really approaches the subject with the perspective of a conflict sociologist. Having experienced first-hand what the women feel and have to deal with, he knows that a change in the way things happen for these women, and all others in the same situation, is necessary. When really looking at the title, it points to the way that most people tend to pigeonhole homeless people into a certain category and stereotype them as though theyre all the s...

Stigma, Stigmas, and Stigmata

Stigma, Stigmas, and Stigmata Stigma, Stigmas, and Stigmata Stigma, Stigmas, and Stigmata By Maeve Maddox Another term associated with religious practice, but often used in other contexts, is stigma. The word has two plural forms: stigmas and stigmata. Stigma derives from Greek and Latin words for the type of mark made by burning, like the brand placed on a slave, or by cutting. The word’s figurative meaning is â€Å"mark of censure or infamy.† The plural stigmata appears in a line at the end of Saint Pauls Letter to the Galatians. Paul says he â€Å"bears Christ’s stigmata in his body† (stigmata Domini Iesu in corpore meo porto). Paul is playing on different meanings of the word stigma. On the one hand, he is contrasting the marks and scars he has received by preaching Christianity as the valid equivalent of the mark/stigma of circumcision, which some Jewish Christians of his time insisted should be required of converted Gentiles. He is also using the word in the sense of the identifying mark of a slave, implying that he belongs to Christ, as a slave belongs to his master. In modern religious usage, the Latin plural stigmata refers specifically to marks on the body that mimic the five wounds of Christ: nail holes in the hands/wrists and feet, and a wound in the side. Some reported stigmata include pain and marks around the head (from the crown of thorns) and on the back (from scourging). The first documented stigmatic (person who exhibits Christ’s stigmata) was Francis of Assisi: The  saints  right side is described as bearing on open wound which looked as if made by a lance, while through his hands and feet were black nails of flesh, the points of which were bent backward.- New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia.   A stigmatic who lived in the twentieth century and was studied by contemporary physicians was Pio of Pietrelcina (1887-1968). The figurative use of stigma is popular in the media to refer to the disapprobation displayed toward certain members of society or to characteristics felt to be socially disreputable. Used in this sense, the usual plural is stigmas. Here are some examples of this use of stigma: Now, in the 21st century, we still have a situation where the words â€Å"mental illness† have negative connotations, leading to stigma surrounding anyone diagnosed with mental illness. In 1936, a bill was passed that made Texas the first state in the southwest to legally remove the  stigma of illegitimacy  from birth records. It is important to understand stigma in India, given its varied culture and mixture of rural and urban populations. The verb is to stigmatize: Afflicted individuals and racial or national groups  have been stigmatized  because of perceptions about highly contagious, difficult-to-cure diseases. [This book] is a great overview of how romance novels (and their readers)  have been stigmatized  for centuries. How Singles Are Stereotyped,  Stigmatized, and Ignored An error in the use of stigma is the redundancy of following it with the word mark: There is a stigma mark attached to being Aboriginal. I would think that if anyone needs a stigma mark, it is them. Note: The noun stigma has other meanings in scientific contexts. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Mobile Computing and Social Networking Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 1

Mobile Computing and Social Networking - Essay Example regards the transmission of personal medical information over wireless networks, and assessing the use of social networking for group support for patients with similar medical concerns. Firstly, with regards to comparing and contrasting the monitoring of patient vital signs using mobile computing technology to inpatient visits, it can immediately be noted that a massive amount of time can be saved with regards to such a monitoring process. Due to the fact that only the data will need to be analyzed and the patient himself/herself is not present at the doctor’s office, it is possible for the doctor/doctors in question to analyze and keep track of a great many more patients than they might be able to otherwise. With employees shortages evidenced in nearly each and every healthcare sector, this is a positive aspect that could be furthered in the future. However, with regards to some of the negatives that such an approach could generate, it must be noted that the responsibility of measurement and/or sustainment of the device/devices in question used to report this information would ultimately be in the hands of the end patient. Whereas in the doctor’s office a team of medical support staff are able to ensure that proper measurements are being affected, quite a different situation entirely is evidenced with regards to a patient being responsible for utilizing equipment in the correct way. In effect, the veracity of the information and key environmental factors must be taken into account with regards to the inference which can be drawn from the date of which is perceived. Similarly, an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of using mobile computing technology to monitor patients will herein be engaged. With regards to the advantages which could be realized, it is necessary to note that a massive level of cost savings could be generated by maximizing time that the medical professionals have to devote to each subset of data. Whereas it is important to have personal contact and a discussion of complicated factors with the patient in question, oftentimes this personal contact eats in to the time that the medical professionals have to analyze key healthcare data that could otherwise be leveraged to make a positive overall impact upon the health of the individual. However, the converse view of this particular situation is one in which an impersonal and removed relationship exists between the healthcare professionals and patients. Although it is no doubt beneficial to maximize healthcare professionals time and increase the veracity of the information and data which can be accrued regarding file signs and healthcare information, achieving this at the risk of creating such an impersonal relationship between doctor and patient is a risk that carries a great deal of negative repercussions. Anytime a technology is employed it is necessary to consider the means by which security concerns can impact upon the way in which a particular

Using The Internet In Hospitality And Tourism Industry Research Paper

Using The Internet In Hospitality And Tourism Industry - Research Paper Example Present-day travelers are hyper-interactive, who are texting, tweeting, emailing, communicating with friends via Facebook and commenting on their current or previous travels. The advent of social media and mobile Web means that potential guests for the hospitality industry have continuous access to multi-channel interaction and sharing opinions. Thus hotel websites have to be designed in order to handle this hyper-interactive user. Thus hotel websites can no longer be static brochures with stale and boring context. (Max Starkov). The Holiday Inn hotel is a subsidiary of the IHG group of companies. It is a brand which remains consistent towards the board. Guests at the 1874 Holiday Inn hotels around the world know that they will be treated well and have a certain level of expectations regarding the service. In fact, the idea for the Holiday Inn hotels came into the mind of its founder, Kemmons Wilson when he was disappointed with the consistency of roadside motels during a trip to Washington DC. Consistency is a great advantage when it comes to providing services. The art of total quality management lies with the hospitality greats like Marriott, Hilton and of course Holiday Inn but when it comes to social media policies and the ever-changing world of the internet consistency has a huge downside. Consistency is not the only key feature of the Holiday Inn hotels and resorts. Innovation goes side by side with consistency. Holiday Inn hotels were the first ones to introduce the Holidex reservation system giving its competitors a run for the money. Holiday Inn hotels also initiated the idea for indoor pools, termed Holidromes, turning its hotels into resorts.

Potiphars Wife: Josephs First Love :: Art Essays Visual

Potiphar's Wife: Joseph's First Love Potiphar’s wife as seen through the eyes of Guido Reni comes to life with her soft looking skin and tender face as she stares longingly up at Joseph. Then her figure falls back into the painting as her pale flesh tones coupled with swirling velvet garments around her body create a surreal setting. She is at once real and unreal. Her features are relaxed, but her intentions are aggressive. Potiphar’s wife embodies the mystery Reni saw in women, capable of being at once threatening and innocent. Joseph, like Reni, is both opposed to Potiphar’s wife and at the same time his eyes linger on her face in an expression of unspoken desire. When she first asks Joseph to lie with her Joseph doesn’t drawback because he thinks Potiphar’s wife is ugly to look upon, or has had her sexuality tainted by another man. Instead it is Joseph’s fear of Potiphar’s wrath that holds Joseph back. He claims that Potiphar â€Å"...neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?(Genesis39:9).† However, just as Joseph’s figure lingers in shadow in Reni’s painting, so too do Joseph’s true feelings remain cloaked behind his words and actions. â€Å"...as she spake to Joseph day by day...to lie by her...it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within(Gen esis39:10-11).† If Joseph is capable of running a prosperous plantation in his master’s absence, and has shown the ability to turn the disadvantage of being a slave into a better life as chief overseer, why does he foolishly fall into Potiphar’s wife’s trap? The answer is that he knows full well that entering into his master’s home will result in another encounter with Potiphar’s wife, and another offer to lie in her bed. His excuse is that he has business to conduct, but as the overseer of the master’s homestead there is no shortage of men below him that he could send to do business up at the master’s house. Instead Joseph repeatedly returns to Potiphar’s wife, denying her advances, but at the same time aroused by her flirtations. In their final rendezvous Potiphar’s wife reaches out for Joseph’s garments and snags them in her hand.

Margin Call Essay

J. C. Chandler’s 2011 film Margin Call examines the actions of an investment firm’s key decision makers during the earliest stages of the most recent financial crisis. Chandler does a good job with the characters of this movie he isn’t necessarily looking for a villain in a mess like this nor any lengthy explanations; he’s going deeper than that. He goes more for societal costs of high finance, the power of self-rationalization, and the easy embrace of personal corruption. The movie is filled with business lessons that go beyond the investment world. One theme of the film centers on business ethics and whether personal interest should trump customer/employee investment. Clearly, the decision made by John Tuld and senior management demonstrates that everybody is out for themselves. Personal investors are at the mercy of the individuals and the firms they invest with. The ease with which Tuld makes his decisions is scary to any business ethical viewer. With unqualified statements such as, â€Å"its just money† the audience begins to understand that the financial system can be an unfair game. In contrast Peter’s boss, Sam Rogers’ ethical implications of how the company plans to resolve its problems are almost more than he can handle. Sam stumbles upon the issue triggering the crisis, it’s one thing to be shocked at the ramifications of what’s about to unfold. But it doesn’t mean one’s outrage can’t be set aside when personal survival is on the line, an attitude that he quietly maintains but isn’t afraid to tap when the need arises. Moral ethics are thrown out the window in order to salvage a firm that has taken on too much risk in order to increase profits and inflate employee earnings. Management is willing to do whatever it takes to save themselves and protect their personal assets. This includes liquidating entire departments, and ruining the integrity of their own employee’s careers in the process. This film had several big ethical messages from it. In addition, there were many smaller points and messages the film showed. One in particular was the way that the employers used an employees entitlements as leverage to coerce them into doing what the enterprise requires. However, things such as stock options, pensions, bonus promises, and health care plans are simply paper assets. The promise that stands behind them can be broken and that paper is completely worthless at the order of those employers or in other words, blackmail. Ethics never loses its relevance. It must be told and retold as, too often, the mportant lessons that it imparts individuals and institutions unwillingly set aside. Ethical lapses can lead and have led to the irrevocable damage of a firm, its employees and clients. If there are any ethics in the business world, the company’s plan for survival is unethical. But in a world that lacks options, there is only winning and losing. Some of the characters struggle with the little emotional and psychological life they have left. But their choice basically comes down to money or no money. One thing that we must remember from this film is not just the ethical decisions made by the upper management but who is affected by these choices made by upper management. The most damaging fallout from all this is on those who didn’t see any of this coming, mostly the investors and the firm’s employees. Those who had the least involvement in all this mess are hurt the most in terms of financial losses. Even if it may seem like the employees’ participation was limited, they are nevertheless part of all of it, just by the inherent connectedness to the overall whole. Just because they weren’t the ones making the decisions doesn’t mean the decisions made by upper management won’t hurt them. This film is a reminder that business and moral ethics can easily be lost in the shuffle when billions of dollars and entire companies are at stake. Tuld is willing to kill the market to protect his interest, without concern for the company’s investors or even the strength of the global economy. When money is no longer an issue, you lose all concern for the individuals who do not hold the same viewpoint.
